3.5 year old speech

My son had a mild-moderate speech delay aged 2 but has come on leaps since then and talking in sentences however sometimes his sentences are nonsense eg we were running and there was a blue dog in the chimney or if I ask what he did at nursery he will tell me they went on the minibus to the park ( when I know they didn’t). Just because of prior issues with speech I wonder if this is because he’s struggling to articulate things or if this is just normal for a 3.5 year old?

Well most 3 year olds are nuts and aren't known for telling the truth but I think it's worth doing this progress checker just to check that he's on track with his speech and understanding
