So basically my 6 week old is having 5oz bottles most of the time completely drains them the other time leaves just under 1oz. However, after most feeds he squirms, thrashes his legs and tenses really hard. But he does fart a lot, but to me what he is showing me is that he has trapped wind? If he takes his dummy he calms down which helps him fart more and then he will fall asleep. He only poops once a day but atm it seems to be every other day!
Yesterday was the worst it's been.. he usually goes 3 hours for feeds. But yesterday it was 1-2 hours. He would wake up really fussy I would do everything in my power to settle him nothing would work and I really didn't think he would be hungry but I made a bottle and he took it straight away and finished it. When my partner came home they both fell asleep on the sofa and again he woke up crying nothing would settle him so made him a bottle and he took it (we was using a perfect prep but since his troubles with after having a bottle I saw alot of things about how the perfect prep seemed to be the issue so we went to kettle making the bottles) but where he seemed so unsettled I used the prep machine so he wouldn't be in so much distress. Anyway, came to nighttime and he was on his changing mat and next minute he erupted and projectiled vomited, he didn't cry and wasn't in any distress. Tried to put him in his crib and he wouldn't fall asleep so I got him to fall asleep and this was around 10pm he was next due a bottle at 11pm but in my head I'm thinking if he doesn't want it I'm not gonna wake him up as he had a lot of bottles and clearly it was too much. He didn't wake until 2am for a bottle gave him one and he only took 2oz he was due to eat at 5am and it is now 5:43am and he is still fast asleep! I just don't know what to do, I feel like something isn't right and I should know what to do but I can't help my baby! Obviously it takes you to Google everything and I was looking at overfeeding but people say that babies won't take food if they don't want it but he does want it and even when I try to pace him on his bottle he just screams and cries because he wants more! I've looked at maybe getting infacol to help with the wind but I don't know if maybe he's just colicky? I just need some advice or help if anyone has been in a similar situation? Thank you so much I'm advance!

So sorry that you haven't had any replies @Tayla97.

How are things now?

I've never found Infacol to be any use personally. You might have more luck with Dentinox in his bottles.

Thank you for commenting! He's been okay today, I've strictly stuck to 3 hours between feeds and if he gets fussy doing my best to distract him which seems to be really helping. I got some infacol just given him his second dosage before his next feed, I have a visit from the health visitor tomorrow so hopefully I can get some advice then. Just needed something as soon as because I just don't want him to be in pain! Thank you so much for responding

Glad things are going better for you.

If he's draining a bottle, I'd look at upping how much you are offering him.

And Dentinox really is easier than Infacol! Grin

I have been thinking of upping his bottles but sometimes he doesn't finish them or he can be quite sick afterwards which lead me to think I was overfeeding him. Gonna see how he goes tonight and gonna give him a bigger bottle for bed and see how he does with that🤞🏻 today has been better though which I'm happy about for him
