Baby Pooping 💩

Hi all,

im a new mom and my little boy is 8 weeks old now! (Time is going so quick!) and for a while now he seems to struggle when pooping! I spoke to the health visitor who said it’s normal and she has known some children go 6+ days without going and that it’s not constipation as when he does go it’s soft stools. I’m just wondering if anyone else has experienced this with their children and if there is anything I can do to help him?

TIA xx

Congratulations on your little boy 😊
Our DD struggled to poop for a little while, our HV suggested popping an extra 2oz of boiled water to her formula when preparing it, so one bottle of formula a day would have 2oz more water than usual. If breastfed we would have had to bottle feed the water to her. We also did lots of tummy time which did wonders for her pooping and lots of leg bicycle movements. My other half also found when he held her a certain way she would fart and poop a lot 😄 we call it the "poop seat hold" now. Sucking on a dummy also seemed to help

Whether it's normal or spends in a few things like are you BFing or FFing and are they getting plenty of wet nappies?
