7month old not interested in toys

Hello mommies.
my 7month old baby is not interested in his toys, is not sitting up yet and not rolling either.

He feeds well and plays well with me.

Sometimes, he avoids looking at me and acts like he is zoned out. He puts him hands in his mouth all the time and usually hand his palm in a fist.

His pediatrician recommended Early Childhood Intervention and they want to start occupational and physical therapy for my baby.

Has anyone experienced same?
Please I need answers on what to do to help my baby and what to expect.

Thanks in advance.

Has the Paediatrician explained why?

Chidera · 16/01/2023 00:59

He mentioned that my baby may be having development delay but I’m worried.
Do you have a similar experience?

I'm sorry @Chidera I've not experienced this but it does sound as if your Paediatrician has picked this up early and having early intervention can only be good Flowers

Hi my girl who is now 5 also had NO interest in toys as a baby and don't u til she was 3.5 years old but she's completely fine now :) loves them.

Also my friends baby didn't sit up until 8 months. I don't think you need intervention. It's all fine :)

Thanks for your reply. It has encouraged me

@Chidera currently in the same situation as you.. how have things come along for you?

Chidera · 11/11/2023 19:07

It’s been a long journey!
My baby is 17m old now. My baby started receiving physical and occupational therapies by 7m.
I continued to try a variety of toys, he started picking interest in toys around 12m. Has been diagnosed of GDD. He’s sitting up independently now and about to start crawling.
He has had MRI scans of the brain and spine, genetic testing and all came back normal.

My daughter was not interested in toys until she was 2 years old. My little boy was interested from 2 weeks. don't worry please.
