Hi, mums my son turned 16 months on the second of Jan and a few months ago I went with my partner's mum to get him his first pair of kickers and his feet are only measuring 1 1/2 and all I am seeing is for his age group. His feet should be at least a size 4 and he is not walking yet. Has anybody else experienced this or should I be worried? X

That's ok Wink

Did you get a Red Book when he was born? It should give you a chart with the weight and height at birth.

This will predict what he should weigh and measure now.

So he should be roughly on the sane curves that he was born on.

If you are worried at all though take him, and his Red Book, to the next Health Visitor weigh in session and ask them to weigh and measure him and to plot it in his Red Book.

This will tell you of he's growing as he should be Wink

I'm not really worried about his weight as such it's just the fact his feet are a size 1 and a half and he is not walking x

I know it's not his weight, it's his height that you need plotting Wink

If his feet are too small, there's a chance that his height isn't what it should be.

The weigh in clinic is a good opportunity to get both his weight and height checked and recorded so that it's clear if he's growing as he should be Wink

Where are you getting that his feet should be 4.5? Is this medical opinion? Do they look unusually small?

I got them measured at Clarks and they are pretty small and I would say

@peterrabbitmamax did the Clark's people mention his feet should be larger? I was just wondering where you had seen that his feet should be size 4.5 and whether it was actually medical advice or something on the internet. Sorry you are worrying, it's so difficult when a worry sets in about our DC, and I am in no way medically trained to be able to comment on it. I think the local nurse led baby clinic is the best place to start, as per a poster above, getting his centile measured. Dr Google will tell you anything you want to hear, so avoid making decisions about him based on that.
