I've spawned a Lennox Lewis-alike, help!

OK so he's only 6 months old but his latest game involves repeateadly battering people. It's gone from slapping my belly while I feed him to whacking people in the face.

He surely doesn't mean it, it's just a phase and he'll grow out of it, right?

I think the best thing to do would be to just say in a calm sturn voice "no, Mummy dosn't like that". If he still does it then take your attention away from him. It seems very young but you really don't want this to develop and get really bad. He'll soon get the message that he gets lots of fuss and attention when he's not smacking but when it starts, the attention stops. It's important to give him loads of positive attention all the time so that he dosn't need to seek it. Hope this helps, good luck.

I was thinking along the same lines - while they're little I'm assuming they're like dogs - positive reinforcement and ignore anything you don't like!
