Hi all,
My daughter is just over 4 months. She was diagnosed with reflux and cmpa when she was around 41/2 weeks old. She isn’t an overly “sicky” baby but has had multiple choking episodes from the milk / liquid coming up which is what brought us to the hospital. She is on omeprazole, sma Althera milk and was also on gaviscon sachets. We moved to carobel from advice from a nurse visit as gaviscon didn’t seem to be doing a lot. Carobel really seemed to help for 1-2 weeks. My daughter then got covid and I was really struggling to give her milk. Usually takes 6/7oz per feed like a gannet. Then would then have 2oz and push bottle away/cry/dribble milk out and it would be a real struggle to get her to have 4/5. Put this down to covid but she’s been out of it for 2/3 weeks now and she’s still being so funny with her milk. 2oz fine and then she is trying to strain/push to go to the toilet (she only goes to the toilet once a day but will strain during every feed) she will wail in pain, pass gas, push the bottle away etc and I’m wondering if it was actually down to carobel and covid just coincided with this. Has anyone had a similar experience? She’s a happy, healthy girl other than this and gaining weight although I’m concerned the weight gain may slow if we continue like this!
