Early puberty

My friends daughter is 7,8 in April. She’s tall for her age and has started her hair down below and BO. We think she may be starting early puberty. My friend is struggling with this.she doesn’t know if to take her to the gp and ask advise ? We can’t seem to find age appropriate books on the subject either. Is anyone else going through or been through this. Tia.

If she's 7 and starting puberty your DF definitely needs to talk it through with a GP, preferably a female one.

I did think this was the right thing to do. I know girls are starting puberty younger 9-10. But she isn’t 8 until April. I’ve looked online for books as well to help her understand herself but they are all aimed at girls ages 9 and up. Thank you.

Really not sure on a book. Maybe ask @MNHQ to move this over to the Preteens Section? Someone might have a few suggestions in there
