Should I be worried?

My DD has just turned 1 and I worry that she is developing behind those around her age.
She cannot walk which I know is a milestone that is hit in a range of different months so not worried about this so much. She doesn't socially smile at anyone else other than her dad, does not babble is pretty much silent, doesn't laugh unless tickled, no interest in anything she's had for her birthday and prefers playing with household items, doesn't point or imitate, no cooing sounds etc
Difficult to not compare your baby to others but I feel like she only sits up and that's the only milestone she has hit

Are you in the U.K. @USERJ?

Could you get your HV to have a look at her and assess her using the. ASQ?

USERJ · 13/12/2022 10:39

Yes I am in the UK but not suppose to have another appointment until 15 months now and I don't have a designated HV, the person changes all the time and I keep getting put through to an office number where no one calls back Confused

That's shocking. Services for Women and Children are so underfunded.

If you are concerned at all about her or meeting milestones, abs you can't get through to a HV, then please see your GP.

Don't be fobbed off, it you think there is something amiss, you need to stand up for her, even if it means several visits to the GP Flowers

@USERJ how is ur baby now

USERJ · 10/09/2023 13:36

Hi. My baby is now 20 months and has progressed very slowly. We have no words just babbling and no pointing or waving which my HV is concerned with and have been referred to SLT. Walking came late at around 15 months but no concern in that area.
We have been informed they are looking at possible speech delay or autism.

Has the HV referred your DD to a Paediatrician for assessment yet @USERJ?
