As the title says really. My son is just ace, like literally a ray of sunshine!
I’m worried about these flipping ‘milestones’ that are forced down our throat though. He was diagnosed as failure to thrive at around 3 months & dropped to the 0.4th centile due to poor weight gain from EBF. He is doing well now though, he’s being bottle fed & is up to the 25th centile. But my worries have never eased after such an awfully worded diagnosis!
What he is doing -
- Smiling
- Laughing
- Babbling
- Grabbing
- Assisted sitting (but will scrunch forward almost immediately)
- Bears weight on his legs & ‘stands’ when he grasps our thumbs
- Attempts to pull up using his arms from a laying to sitting position whilst grasping our thumbs
- His head is as sturdy as anything & he has full control
However he just doesn’t seem to want to roll! Especially from front to back, which i’ve read they’re supposed to master first!
He absolutely despises tummy time. He literally lies there like a flapping fish with his arms down by his legs flailing about. It’s awful to watch. I’ll try to assist him by putting his arms in line with his shoulders but he hates it & won’t lift his head very high like that either. He bears no weight on his arms when he’s on the floor
He tolerates it on my chest & will bear weight on his arms a bit, but again hates it
He has rolled onto his side unassisted from his back, but again shows no signs of going onto his tummy
Am I stressing over nothing? Everything I see on social media & from what I read suggests he should at least be rolling one way by now?!
Reassurance or advice needed. Thank you x
