Are all 14/15 year old boys grumpy?

Asking about someone else's kid not mine. (Mine's only 12).
Is it normal/common for a boy who's 14/15 years old to be really miserable and grumpy? Is it hormones?

Grumpy in what way? Do you mean that they are grumpy towards you?

Grumpy and miserable in general!

Pretty normal I think. They seem to go through a phase where they basically sleep a lot, grunt to communicate and don't wash a lot. Then they discover girls (or boys) and it all rights itself.
