Started biting... at nearly 5?! Help!

My DS started school this term, only mornings. Today I picked him up to be told that he had bitten a boy. He's never done anything like that before and I'm not sure what it means or what I should do. We've talked it over and he says that he couldn't find the words to tell the boy to move. He then said that 'a bad voice' told him to bite him. This is, I'm sure you can appreciate, really concerning me. Voices?! Does anyone have any experience of this kind of behaviour? What does it mean and what should I do?

Sounds like he 'saw red' and couldn't control himself! He is probably finding it a bit overwhelming in the hubbub of the classroom.

Could you teach him some things to say if he feels cross and angry again? Or tell him to walk away if he feels he might bite somebody.

In reception they are really learning to be socail and work alongside other children, and not give in to their anti social instincts, he'll get there in the end I'm sure.
