Now I might do a disclaimer that I might be unreasonable here… Basically my 5yo DS does these strange things when he sighs loudly and makes repeated noises. He likes to repeat sentences, acts clumsy on purpose (like throwing himself about), repeats things until they sound ‘just right’, sometimes he would stare at the distance and do like 5/6 sighs and we cannot interrupt him or he “has to start again”.
He does a few more things but they keep changing. Like muttering certain weird words under his breath and winking forcefully specific number of times etc.
I had him assessed by a leading psychologist in the area and she seem to think that he’s ok. There may be a few things that are a little on the spectrum but it doesn’t affect his day to day life at all.
He’s very bright, has no problem at school; quite shy but he makes lots of friends somehow (other children love him), loves sports and good at every sport going and it’s always really insightful to speak with him. He’s well mannered, well behaved, kind and caring. Sometimes he has this look in his eyes though I don’t know how to describe it, it’s just gives me chills. Maybe I’m the one who needs to go to a psychologist? Is it normal behaviour for a 5 year old?
