Hi
Does anyone have any suggestions to help overcome generalised anxiety and separation anxiety?
I have 3 DC - one with ASD and one with anxiety.
DC1 is the anxious one, she's always been a little anxious which I assume she gets from me however, since me and their Dad separated, DCs anxiety is through the roof especially separation anxiety. I have spoken to my MH guy at the doctors who has said at their age, counselling is the only option (I wouldn't want to medicate anyway).
DC has counselling through school and I am in close contact with the school regarding our situation.
I was just wondering if anyone has gone through similar and has any suggestions to make DCs life just a little easier.
It breaks my heart that I can't just fix it (and doesn't help that it was my decision to end the relationship with their dad and he blames me at every opportunity)
Thank you for reading xx

So sorry that you're suffering like this @Anxiousbadger.

Is there any possibility that DC1 could also be on the spectrum? Have they ever been assessed?

DD1 went through an anxious phase (though not as bad as you guys report) and we found Helen Kennerley's book "Overcoming Anxiety" useful.
