I’m pregnant & son’s behaviour has changed

I’m 16 weeks pregnant. A couple of weeks after my 6 year old son found out he started acting up at home and at school, just generally mis behaving, which is not like him. We are struggling to change this. He says he is excited about the baby and always kisses me belly. Has anyone experienced any similar issues after telling their child about their pregnancy?

My son was 3 when I told him he was going to be a big brother. His behaviour was up and down for the whole of my pregnancy, even though he was overjoyed and couldn’t wait to have a sibling. It’s a lot for them, and it’s a very common reaction. I found the best thing to do with my son was love-bomb him if he was acting up, ignore what could be ignored (he was loving negative attention) and talk lots about how he is feeling. As soon as baby was earth side he went back to his usual laid back self and has been fine ever since.
