My 4yo (5 in Feb) is struggling with separation anxiety at the moment. He's a generally happy little boy, and currently goes to nursery three days a week. Every single day is hellish - starts pretty much the moment we get up, lots of 'I don't want to go to nursery' etc...
He runs away and hides so I can't get him in the car, I literally have to pick him up and take him in, peel him off my legs. I get the impression that it's all for our benefit (he's exactly the same with DH), and a minute after we leave he's absolutely fine. But it's getting to me, and rubbing off on my 2yo.
We do have a new baby, 8weeks, so this could be something to do with it, though he's been doing it longer than that. I don't know what to do.
