Why, oh why, is she doing this?

Over the last few days, DD (8mo) has started to blow raspberries through pursed lips. She does it all day especially at meal times which results in me being sprayed with lots of her food. I'm not sure if she is trying to make a different sound to her normal babbling as it sounds like she is trying to say th-bm (whatever that means ). At first I thought it was hilarious now I'm starting to get a little bit bored of being sprayed with copious amounts of weetabix. I really want to understand what she is trying to do. Any guesses?

She is trying to talk to you.
Raspberry blowing is a definite precursor to speech and it gives them practise in lip control (or not where the Weetabix is concerned)
