OK, what are your HOUSE RULES and how do you 'enforce' them?

I can think of a few, but would like to hear yours! Do you have them on a wall? What if they are broken? What's the consequences?

Don't think we have any House Rules. But my LO is only 20 months.

I suppose we have two unbreakable rules:
No hitting the dog
No touching the fire

...but apart from that it's just general encouragement to behave well. What age are your LOs Fmeister?

i dont have house rules as such ds is 2.7 with speech delay so cant back chat me but if i ever have to warn him for anything i always follow through with a consequence

not playing hi sgame time out ect dont have to do it much as warning seems to work 99% of the time as he knows i follow through

Well I've been thinking and I don't think we've really got any Will be watching this thread to see what I've missed or what I take for granted.

Broccoli, they are 9 and 7. And in need of some discipline

i guess all you can do is be consistant if you give a warning always follow through with it

wether it be taking something away no tv grounded i was told consistency is always the answer

my ds only young but he knows mummy not playing usually warn and he stops if he doesnt i follow through and he doesnt do it again rarely had to tell him off for same thing twice

guess its best he knows this young maybe he will be good for me lol i'm sure he'll ahve great time testing me but i shall always stick to what i say

What ever rules you have there should always be clear consequences, for not following any rules set!! And as bubblagirl says, always follow through what you have said, no matter how hard!!!

The golden rule for me and DH is never make a threat we are not prepared to follow through.

Our house rules are:

food in the kitchen or the dining room only
don't touch the fire
no slamming doors
put coat / school bag etc in box near front door when you come in
knickers must be worn if sitting on soft furnishings

And that is about that which is probably why my DD (4.7 yo) is currently sitting next to me on a card board box playing on her computer wearing nothing but zinc oxide cream (all over???), pink socks and a pair of reindeer antlers with bells ....
