Teaching 3 year old indoor voice

Having lived with my 3 year old toddler's gradually raising volume I've been slow to realise that he basically shouts all the time at home.

If you can say it, shout it seems to be his motto.

Anyone had any luck breaking the habit and teaching indoor voice?

Just ask him calmly, every single time he shouts, to use his indoor voice. If he's really not catching on, ignore him, just as you would ignore a child using a whingy voice, until he says it at reasonable volume.
