To delay starting primary school?

DC2 is a late august baby, (30th) who was born a week early. We are now applying for primary school but trying to decide whether to ‘defer’ for a year.

i am just keen to hear from others in the same situation - what did you do?

I thought of deferring with my late summer DC but 2 things put me off.

1. We wouldn't be guaranteed a place in the local school where her elder sibling was.

1. We visited the school with some of the other children on a settling in session for parents and children and she absolutely loved it.
