12 month old will only eat pureed food

My son is nearly 12 months old and his food at mealtimes pust be pureed (not mashed) or he spits out anything that has lumps in it. Even yogurt with fruity bits gets spat out.

He will feed himself toast, rice cakes, crackers, etc. It is not that he can't chew, it's that he won't chew whilst being fed at meal times. He has 4 teeth, and 2 more are coming in.

It seems that many babies at this age eat their food cut up in small pieces, rather than pureed or mashed. Not my ds, though. Food must be 100% smooth, or he will not let me feed it to him.

Is this any cause for concern? Should I bring it up with my HV or is it nothing much to be worried about since he does feed him self rice cakes, etc?

just give fingerfoods...don't give anything that needs to be pureed...

carrots can be cooked carrot sticks, and so on....

don't think it's unusual for lil ones to dislike lumps, if they have been used to purees

yeah i would ditch the purees, just let him feed himself if he's happy doing that.
