Badly behaved around MIL

I've got 2 little girls who can (at times) be a slightly feral.

On the whole they are well behaved. Eldest (5) can be quite rude and not listen but I would say is getting a lot better. Youngest is 2 and is just a bit mischievous and tries to run off occasionally (as a normal 2 year old does!).

The issue I've got is that when they are with MIL, I am told that they don't listen at all. When she comes over the house they suddenly play up, start crying, misbehaving, getting bum out, being rude to her. The youngest one sort of plays off her sister and will get a bit wild and loud and run off etc.

It looks as if we have no control over then whatsoever but they don't actually act like that when it's just me with them. Don't get me wrong they might do for a little bit but they soon calm down.

It's every time MIL comes over or if we meet her with SIL etc they just act like absolute brats.

I'm not sure what to do? I don't know why it's just when they are around her? She used to let them walk all over her but now she is a bit more stern but I just dread her coming over.

Are they not just really over excited to see her?

I would just ignore it to be honest. They are probably just excited and showing off a bit. They are very young still.

Agree with Holly. They're young and sound excited. If they are becoming troublesome suggest a walk to the park or a ball game in the garden.
