Fed up with my Friend's kid

My friend's DS is a week older than mine. They're both 2.5 yrs. He child keeps hitting , pushing, shoving and hurting mine. Up until now, it's just been typical toddler behaviour.

However, last week her DS hit mine hard enough to leave a lump on his head with a large toy. The thing is, there's no warning signs before this behaviour. He'll be playing or what ever and then just hurt my son with out provocation.

I know they're toddlers and some challenging behaviour is normal, but I'm at a loss. I don't feel like I can keep my child safe around hers.

We live in a small village and they will go to nursery and school (small, single form classes) together.

Her parenting involves 100% attention regardless of behaviour.

How do I address this without causing future issues?!

You should not be fed up with “your friend’s kid”

you should be “fed up” with you friend for not being more proactive

@Razu45 it was the most to the point title I could think of, but you're right. I'm sick of her distinct lack of actual parenting under the guise of 'gentle parenting'. I don't dislike gentle parenting, just the not bloody parenting! (For the record!)

I just don't know what to do next to avoid causing issues at the school gates or whatever in the future. She lives about 4 doors away and our school is well within walking distance. 🙄

I can't keep letting this carry on though. I'm worried it will be an issue when they start school nursery in the very near future.
