My son is 2 years old 3 months and messes about every bedtime it takes sometimes 2 hours to get him to sleep he doesn't listen to me? I have another baby on the way and can't control him especially at bedtimes and need some routine for him I do try but it takes so long fkr him to drop off.. he runs from room to room sits up keep talking and laughing it's getting me down.. I bet no time to myself and plus have a baby due any day now help!

It doesn’t sound like he’s tired. I’d suggest limiting his nap or putting him to bed later.

Keep grabbing him before he gets out of bed.

The other day he only had 45 minutes nap and was still the same?

I'd skip the nap and have a super early bedtime. Its a hard stage around that age because they get very overtired and hyper very easily, but even small amounts of day time sleep can really mess up bedtime.

I used to sometimes do 6.15pm bedtime on a no nap day. And even if it meant DD got up at the crack of dawn I preferred that to horrendous bedtimes!

I think you just have to try a few things and see what effect it has on the child as they are all so different.

TBH sounds like a standard 2 year old! Try dropping the nap and see what happens. He can probably sense something is about to change in his life too. I wouldn’t worry about it too much. Unfortunately just a part of parenting!
