My 7yr old dd seems to have had a personality transplant in recent weeks and i am continually finding myself amazed at the things she comes out with.

I was telling her explaining to her why she needed to tidy her room the other day and she said "yeah whatever" and her other current fave is "yeah yeah yeah"

If she is like this now god only knows what she'll be like as a teenager.

Join the club, this sounds like my 5 yr old. She does a wicked line in stomping off and slamming doors as well as the bottom lip thing.

Oh god yes, the slamming doors, i forgot about that one. I have threatened to take them off.

From what I remember from a child development course (years ago now). 5/6/7 is around the age whan children try and assert their independance, just their way of saying "I'm not a baby". It's a normal phase of growing up although their attitudes soon change when they want a cuddle.
