Is autism really that bad?

I'm always hearing all the worries and behaviour but can someone share the good things? What makes your little person special and unique? What are there strengths and achievements that stand out from any other kid?

Ps I'm on the fence with my little guy, professionals say no ASD but I'm not convinced!

One of my sisters has autism. A good thing is that she has very particular, intense interests and is always enthusiastic about them, and never bored!

She also taught herself to read at one and was writing by three. Extremely academically advanced and high achieving.

Luckily there is also much more autism awareness and support now than when we were growing up (we never knew what was 'different' about DSis until we were adults).
