Hi all. DS is 3 months old and EBF. He weighs 18lbs so a very chunky boy. He might do a 4/5 hour stretch at the start of the night (say 8pm until midnight) but after that is up every 1.5/2 hours. Last night he slept 9pm until midnight but was then up at 12, 1:45, 3:30, and 4:50. He's currently asleep but I also have a 3 year old DD who was up at 5! I'm so tired.

DD was sleeping through from 8 weeks (she was formula fed though) so I'm not really used to this! I know he's far too young to sleep train but I'm just looking for commiserations I guess 😂

If your baby was the same at that age, when did they sleep though or at least go longer than two hours?

That’s quite normal in my experience! I would just go to bed early and sleep that long stretch alongside him. I wouldn’t change anything because he isn’t being unreasonable 😂 if you see what I mean. At that age my baby did the same - a 5 hour ish stretch then waking every couple of hours.

My DS is also 3 months and EBF, this sounds exactly like him! He also doesn’t nap longer than 30/40 minutes during the day, ends up being a very cranky baby.

Doesn’t help I have a DD 2.5 years old who requires all my energy too and I just don’t have it in me. She was EBF and started sleeping longer stretches from around 5 months.

Suppose I’m just looking for some light at the end of the tunnel and hoping weaning him when he is 6 months will keep him happy to sleep through the night 🙈

Sounds normal to me, my first did the same and my 10 week old is currently doing the same too. Just go to bed early and be prepared for that to be the deal for a long time.
