good night sleeper to bad night groaner

Background: My 15 month ds has up until now been a pretty good sleeper. Down at 7:30pm and up again at 7am. The occasional rough night with teeth etc, but generally pretty good. He sleeps on average approx. 3-4 hours a day.

However, recently, he has started crying whilst semi-asleep sporadically through the night. If it's a small 'groan', then I tend to leave him and he settles himself, but if it goes on over a minute, I tend to check on him. All he usually needs is a quick pat on the back, untwisting from his grobag or pulling down the cot becuase he's crawled up to the top.

Is this just a phase? Is it down to a too long twisty grobag or is he starting to have nightmares? Is he getting too little / too much sleep? Any thoughts?

Am currently 4.5 months pregnant so would like to get some unbroken sleep for a change!

sorry for the long thread.
