My nearly 7 year old has become very clingy and will panic if he can't see me. It can be as little as me asking him to go sit in the car while I get my stuff. He will refuse to do this even though he's with his siblings. Even in play areas he will only play next to me. He's fine in school and has a few good friends. He was such a confident little boy so I'm not sure if it's just his age or anxiety since covid. He only managed to really start back in year 1 so I'm not sure if it's that. He's now started year 2 so I was hoping he'd be a lot better and confident.
I feel helpless. I've asked his teacher to keep an eye out but she said he's very popular and confident in class.
