Autism speech - feeling deflated

My DS has just turned 2 and he is on the ASD pathway.

He is still non-verbal and I've been trying really hard to be consistent with some tips from his speech therapist (he has only had one session, we are being referred for more but this could be months) but some days it feels like I'm hitting a brick wall. I'm trying to be as positive and patient as I can be. Some days are just hard I guess.

Has anyone else's autistic child made leaps and bounds with speech? Is 2 too young to know how he will progress?

Thank you x

I don’t know how much help this will be as I don’t have personal experience but what I can say is my friend’s son of 15 is autistic and he was completely non verbal until age 3. Now is thriving at secondary school
