Birthday presents…

My DD had a family party yesterday at my parents house. As soon as family members walked in with a bag of presents, she immediately assumed they were for her and screamed until they gave in and let her have them. It isn’t her birthday until Monday. I was so embarrassed and took her away and told her it was very rude and if they want to give her the presents they will but not to be rude and ask or get upset. This did not work! She came back and did the same!! She’s going to be 4 btw. My husband then tried the same but again she freaked out. My sister let her have them as it was awkward and easier but I was very embarrassed and she was acting like a spoilt brat!

How do I tackle this? Family surely shouldn’t have to hide things but is she too young to understand not to ask/come across rude?
