11 year old - How much time gaming

I have a 11 year old boy. I'm wondering how much time similar aged children spend gaming, Minecraft etc

I invite his friends around as much as possible. If they are not there he will just want to be gaming.

If we go out, he is always saying he is bored and wants to go home (to be on the iPad). He has after school activities two days a week and he is fine with going to those.

When my children were that age, gaming was only allowed on weekends and only 2 hours a day.
The problem of gaming is that everything loses attractiveness. Nothing produces the same adrenaline and excitement.

My DD11 has a hard limit of 1 hour per day.
She constantly goes over to the ipad and wants to pick it up and play with it though. Or our phones.
They are very addicting.

She would rather be on the ipad than anything else really.
