Hi there - some advice please.
My DD 4.9 has always gone to sleep on her own every night she's been an angel until now.
On Saturday night at Grandma's she watched Primeeval - the one about the giant maggots or something ! TBH my DD has watched Jurassic Park, Godzilla etc and has always knows that its pretend and not real so TBH I wasn't too worried that she watched this. We've never had any problems before - but after this she won't go to sleep on her own and is really scared - I feel very bad about the whole thing, bad mother alert and realise I will think twice next time about letting her watch anything like this - But has anyone got any ideas my confident little DD has turned into a very scared little girl - I've even put a lamp in her room to help (she usually has just a nightlight) but she still won't rest - last night it was 2240 by the time we got her off

Just stay with her and give her hugs as she drops off for a few nights, and then hold hands for a few nights, and then be quietly tidying the room up till she goes to sleep - all within her comfort zone, and gradually she'll be dropping off alone again.
