9 month old development

I’m feeling a bit concerned about my LGs development. She’s nearly 9 months old. Things I’m worried about:

  • She’s not crawling, not even able to get on all 4s yet so don’t think it will be any time soon?

  • Never laughs, we have had the odd slight giggle but she’s never belly laughed. Not ticklish in the slightest

  • Babbling a bit but mostly ahhh and mmmm noises and raspberries, sometimes get the odd little da/ta

  • Generally a ‘high needs’ baby, cries a lot, short attention span

She does smile quite a lot, makes ok eye contact and responds to her name most of the time (often takes a few goes though!)
Has anyone else’s LO been similar at this age? Am I worrying for nothing or not?

My DD was the same at that age, she didn’t crawl until 10.5 months and even then it was a commando crawl and didn’t get up on all 4s until a month after that. Also didn’t babble until after her 1st birthday. She’ll get there, some babies just like to take their time 😊

Thank you that’s reassuring :)

@PrincessKong hows your little one coming along. Sounds a bit like mine who is now 9 months and I’m quite concerned about him too. He has some strange quirks and things he does that’s concerning aswell

Hi @Danielle1989x
My girl is 13 months now and I’m not concerned anymore :) she crawls, cruises and babbles all day long now! She gets excited to see us when we pick her up from nursery and giggles when we play games with her. She is a much happier and easier baby now that she is more mobile, she just loves crawling round exploring and getting into everything, and toddling around pushing her walker.
I think 9 months was a tricky age because she wasn’t a tiny baby anymore and she needed more stimulation, but she still couldn’t move very far or communicate well enough to get what she wanted.
