9 month old not crawling

Hiya just looking for some advice and reassurance, my LG (i assume means little girl) is 9 months (born 13/11/22) and is still not crawling, going on hands and knees or pulling to stand. She's very good at rolling both ways and sort of side shuffles but isn't crawling yet. I'm putting toys out of reach to encourage her which she does try to get to but gets really frustrated and worn out.

She's also babbling well but not using consonants at all yet, mostly oooh ahhh sounds with squealing and fake coughs.

Just looking for advice/reassurance from any parents that may have experienced something similar with their little one and what did they do?

I'm also very new to mumsnet so not familiar with some of the abbreviations etc.

Thanks so much!!!

Sounds normal to me. My LG didn’t crawl until 10.5 months, didn’t pull to stand until after her 1st birthday and didn’t even babble until 12.5 months. She walked at 15 months.

Shes now 2.3 years old and doesn’t stop talking. Babies do things in their own time so try not to compare. ☺️

My DD didn't crawl on hands and knees until 10 months, the same time as she started pulling up to stand and getting herself into the sitting position. I could plonk her anywhere and she would stay put - now I look back wistfully on those days as she is 12 months and has started taking independent steps. Fear not, they do what they want when they want and all catch up eventually!

Hi @SosoFofo662 just wondering whether your little one started crawling yet and when it happened. My LO is nearly 9 months old and your description sounded very familiar! Did she just get going one day?

My LO didn't crawl or pull up until 10 months & there was absolutely no signs of it coming until one day he just did it - hope this helps @Lowkeyloopy

Thank you @njh21! That’s helpful to know. I know I should appreciate it while he’s not mobile like everyone says, but he’s very frustrated by not being able to crawl so I do hope it happens soon for his sake!

Honestly try and enjoy it while you can. My NCT friends were envious of me enjoying my cuppa at baby classes with DD sitting like a buddha in front of me while they were all running about after their crawling kids. She crawled at 11 months I think and walked at 16 months. She didn't need any particular encouragement on either. One advantage of the later ones is they tend to be a bit sturdier and better at it once they're off.

DD is now coming up to 4 and there is no difference between her and the kids who started walking and talking earlier. Don't worry.
