Ideas for getting ds to poo earlier.... ie not just when going to bed!

My ds1 seems to have developed a knack over the last 2 weeks of 'holding' onto his poo which then turns bedtime into a faff of trying before bath, before pjs, during story and then mostly after lights out leading to a final result!
They trying is alway intiated by him - we are not pressuring him to perform.
However, this mean bedtime is now a long drawn out hour or more.
And I feel he is starting to relish the attention - hence the holding out as long as possible.
How can I shift his body clock forward?

Could you try a dose of fruit at breakfast-time anything soft like berries or grapes, to sort of loosen him up a bit earlier?

Or bring his bedtime forward an hour (if he can't tell the time yet) he'll poop earlier, you'll be happier and hopefully he'll stay asleep till a decent hour?

Should mention - I have tried giving him extra fruit & wholemeal toast for breakfast - lots of water or dilute juice to drink during the day.
Is Allbran for breakfast too hard core ?!?
My next idea....

Umm does he get some sort of reward after he's got ready for bed? How about a chart with 'things we do when we are getting ready for bed' with going to the loo BEFORE the bath and stickers if he does it (with a reward if he gets five stickers?)
