What is up with my 5 year old

I'm a bit concerned about my 5 year old DD. She's always been an easy child and lots of fun, fairly social and fairly adventurous.

For the last 6 weeks she's been on really poor form, not wanting to play with her friends, refusing summer club (to be fair this was the first year I booked her in and she is possibly a bit young for day long activities).

She's also hugely taken against my mum who visits once a week.

We just got back from a UK seaside trip with my mum and it was awful. She complained every day and was cross and tearful. She said she hated the holiday and just wanted to stay in and watch TV. She absolutely rejected my mum too and wouldn't speak to her or engage with her, when previously they had had a good relationship.

We did go out to the beach and to boat trips / stately homes and gardens, lido etc and she enjoyed those activities but cried the whole way to them.

She's also said some odd things like making people happy makes her sad and making them sad makes her happy (she assured me that I am the exception to this).

I feel awful, what is going on?

Has anything changed for her? Any new people around?

Saying making other people happy makes her sad could be nothing but I'd be thinking who has said ""if you do this, it will make me happy" to her.
