Hiya, I'm just looking for some advice really. We have a 3 year old girl who we think may have ADHD. We think she may have autism too. We first started noticing behaviors of ADHD when she was very young, I'd say about 9-10 months, the past year it's got so much worse. I'm struggling to cope as we have no help from friends or family, we do ask them if they can have her for a couple of hours/overnight but they don't want her because they 'know what she's like', we're with her 24/7. We have an appointment with the doctor soon and hopefully get a referral, has anyone else's child be diagnosed this young? In the meantime what can I do to make it easier for us? Just have no idea what to do 😔

Hi

Can you go into more detail of what she's like & what she does? What makes you think she has ADHD/ASD?

@c307 it's a long list 😂
she is always running out screaming constantly, when she's happy, sad, angry, fidgets all the time, doesn't sit still.
She doesn't like waiting, for example when in queues, waiting for us to finish stuff so we can get her a drink. When out shopping, if we stop she doesn't like it and will scream.
She's easily distracted, she will go from one toy to the other very quickly, gets bored easily.
She doesn't listen, hardly any eye contact, doesn't respond to her name.
She doesn't like loud noises, hoover, hairdryer, washing machine and kettle she puts her hands over her ears and runs away.
When out and about she will run away if she doesn't want to go a certain way, I pick her up, she has a meltdown in my arms, kicking me, punching and pulling hair. She never wants to hold my hand and doesn't like her reins.
Tantrums/meltdowns last over an hour, this will happen at least twice a day, hurting herself too, hitting herself and banging her head against the wall.
She will spin around in circles for ages, this happens everyday, I'm thinking it may be a stim.
She's behind on speech but will talk rapidly in her own little way.
She wakes up crying/screaming about 3-5 times a night.

There's more but I'm going on 🙈 this is just a few things

Hi 👋

so, my 3 year old is waiting for her autism assessment. She seems very much much like how you’ve described your daughter. My girl has a speech delay, spins in circles a lot (it’s stimming), cannot wait, runs constantly, noise sensitivity etc. pretty much what you’ve described. We’ve been waiting for her assessment for almost a year as she met the criteria based off HV observations and MCHAT screening. I think you should definitely get in touch with your HV or GP and voice your concerns, even if it turns out she’s not autistic or has ADHD - the waiting lists are insane 😫. I hope this helps x

@laurenvictoriaxo oh I'm so glad I'm not the only one, I mean I know I'm not but sometimes it just feels like no one gets it! And it gets so lonely because she's never invited to anything because of the way she is. We have a telephone appointment on the 16th to discuss my concerns! Yes I've heard the waiting list is so long, just want to get the referral in now so we can take the first step. Thank you x
