6/7 month old is super challenging

Please tell me this phase will pass. My baby girl was really easy up to about 6 months. Slept through the night and was generally content. She hit almost 6 months and has really gone a bit mental. She wakes all through the night and screams all day. I can't even go to the loo without her screaming, if I'm not actively playing with her, she's screaming. I love playing with her but sometimes I need to get a drink or get something to eat (today she screamed so badly every time I stopped playing with her that I didn't manage to get anything to eat or drink until 3pm :( not even water, my pee was dark brown by that point!). She barely naps and really really fights it, began weaning okay but now is refusing all solids and fights and screams when nursing. She's exhausting and I'm really frayed, I just don't know what I can do to help her get back to being a cheery baby. She's discovered crawling and moving but if she's not actively doing that (while nursing or eating or sleeping, for example), then she's screaming like she's just been stung by a bee :(. Did you little one have a phase like this? Did it pass? I'm literally in tears every day trying to deal with my horribly unhappy baby :(

With such a dramatic change, I’d be inclined to take her to the GP to rule out a possible ear infection.
