Hello,
I was wondering whether anyone had some advice with what they do with their children when it comes to washing their hair?
My son has sensory difficulties (he’s 3) and us use to always love bath time and washing his hair. But now he’s getting older, we are finding it virtually impossible to wash his hair.
He refuses to put on the cap that keeps the water from his face. We have tried singing, making it a game, trying to lay him down gently in the water, tried a soft shower, but nothing is working. He screams the house down, and gets so overwhelmed.
Does anyone have any good ideas on how to help him be calm? It’s so important that we wash his hair, as it’s very curly and not easy to do.
We are trying very hard to not overwhelm him, but he gets himself in to such a state that we end up giving up and only wash what we can.
Any suggestions will be helpful.
Thank you :)
