Bottle aversion

My LG created a bottle aversion (I’m almost certain) from having CMPA and associating milk with pain and I feel guilty of pressuring her to feed not knowing and worrying that she wasn’t taken enough milk.

I have been doing the Rowena Bennett bottle aversion strategy (not sure if you may have heard of it) and I have seen improvements.

However my LG is 17 weeks old, she weighs approx 12lb 3 and has always been on the 9th centile.

She drinking on average 3-4.5 oz bottles every 3 hours and normally a 5 oz feed in the night which is averaging 20-22 oz a day.
Sometimes less.

I just worry that this is not enough.

Has anyone else had/have LO’s that never took a high volume?

Thank you

Hi, I believe my daughter had a bottle aversion in the first few months and I read and followed Rowena Bennett’s plan. Honestly it was the best thing I ever done it really turned things around for us. My daughter was born 91st centile and then settled around 75th. She NEVER drank more than max 20-25 oz a day and she maintained her weight. Please don’t get stressed about arbitrary numbers and just listen to your child. If she she is happy and alert between feeds and peeing and pooing she is getting enough.

My daughter is almost two and ours days of feeds and bottles are long over but oh my god do I wish I hadn’t spent the first few months of her life lying awake at night counting ozs!

@MotherOfDragon20 it’s lovely to hear a success story.
I think you completely understand how I feel.
My anxiety has been through the roof.

@Catchingrainbows how did you end up getting on? I’m currently following the book but we’ve had a relapse and my anxiety is through the roof!
