Have been doing it for the last few days as she always plays up when I am feeding DD2 so she knows I can't get to her striaghtaway.

She was too close to the Tv during ITNG earlier and I aked her to sit down,
'No'
I'll count to three and then I will turn it off
One
Two
'I go sit down mummy, DD1 good girl' and off she went!

Yes!!!

Yes counting always works with ds1! Have never got to 3 or even made any threat of what might happen if I did, but when all else fails 1...2... works every time!

He did once or twice last year finish the count himself Dp counted 1...2... and ds1 shouted 3! Dp responded with 'right' and immediately ds1 did whatever it was he was supposed to be doing!

Am clueless as to why it works so sucessfully but I'm not going to question it too much!

counting always works with DS1 - he gets the choices - a or b you have to the count of 3 to decide which you want. more than 85% hit rate.

I've tried it with DD, but so far I just get:

Me: one, two...
DD [singsong voice]: four, six, nine, ten, ten, two, five...

I have hopes for the future though...
