7 weeks old, green poo - advice please

My 7 week old has green poo every day. She has some that are yellow (in the morning) but in the afternoon and evening they are green. no one is ever the same and the most recent was green and gelatinous. We were at the docs last week as they were green and runny and diagnosed as a virus. They are less runny now, but still very green at times.

She is bf. I am concerned about the irregularities within the day.

Any advice would be great.

hm...in a breastfed Baby green poos can be a sign of a high foremilk intake....if I remember correctly it's down to a higher Lactose contents in foremilk (but I might am muddled up there)

custard congratulations on your new baby,
my 7month old dd has always had green poos, dr said it not a problem at all.

does your baby seem well otherwise?

there is a famous dr called jack newman [i think!] he advises that you change babies nappies with sunglasses on so you do not get overly concered about colour of the poo!

Ds had green poos when was about that age. We had them checked out and it wasn't a virus or anything. I think it was just that I had a lot of milk and he was guzzling it down too fast(he was also putting on 500 g a week). He's always been a very healthy, robust baby.

I was told green poo indicates a growth spurt.

Thanks for all your advice.

Tryingtoleave - I think I do have a lot of milk and she is a little guzzler - was putting on about 150z a week!

I feel much better about it now and she is fine and happy so I will worry no longer.
