A lot of ours was just chat with me, and then some play with ds1. Nothing formal or worth concerning yourself about.

My DS saw a speech therapist before he started school so he was still 3 and all she really did was get him to talk to her. The lady had toys out and asked him what he was doing with them. I think she had a few pictures for him to name and talk about too but it wasn't like he had to sit and repeat sounds or anything. They seem to be able to get all the info they need from just listening to normal chat.

The SALT also asked me and DH some questions about what his first words were and when he said them and what we thought the problems were. It is more about fact finding than actually doing much to help.

They do try to make it as fun as possible.

DS1 saw a Speech therapist when he was 2 9ish). There were 2 therapists one played with him whilst the other talked to me. They were both really nice. He had a speech delay and was meant to have a follow up 6 months later, but we moved out of that NHS trust so after I talked to the therapist on the phone he was discharged.

i had speech therapist come to my house and just palyed games and asked him to do thimngs to check his level of understanding to work out where to go with therapy

it was just relaxing and asked me questions on how he communicates so she knows reasons why he may not be talking as well as others his age my ds 2.7

The first one with DD was more of a chat - I spoke to one therapist and explained my concerns etc whilst another therapist played with DD.

The whole lot of sessions were play-centred and very informal. Nothing to worry about
