Worried about 3 year old development

Hi,

My daughter turned 3 last month and I'm worried about the social/communication part of her development.

She shows hardly any interest in other children or adults.
With me she is absolutely fine, we will play chat etc

At playgroup when other children try to interact with her it's like they're not even there. She doesn't understand sharing or taking turns.
Same when most other adults try to talk to her.

She's an only child and I'm a single parent.
She had 2 cousins 7 and 8 and she will see them twice a month. Some days she will go there and be all hellos and Hugs and interact and other days nothing.

She starts nursery in September and I'm worried she won't make friends.

She's very smart knows number, abcs, shapes, colours, can spell/read quite a few words.
She has zero interest in potty training, she's terrified of both the potty and the toilet.

She's happy, funny, loving, likes music and dancing, reading, puzzles.

If it wasn't for the communicating/socialising I wouldn't worry at all.

I'm just an anxious first time mum basically looking for any advice or people in similar situations

I think a couple of things you've mentioned could be normal but I think you might be best to try and get the HV to assess her. There's a Process checker for SLT here and I found this book on potty training really helpful Flowers
