Child using me and sofa as climbing frame

I have a friend whose 2.5 yo daughter climbs all over her mother, me, the sofa etc - both at her home and ours. She’s a big girl, and it’s absolutely exhausting and ends in tears when she inevitably accidentally kicks me in the face etc. When I remove myself from playtime on the floor, and sit on the sofa, she will just launch herself at me from the headrest instead!

It’s got me thinking, as I’m pregnant with my first, I really don’t want my child using me, the sofa, and the dog as a bouncy castle!

Is this expectation unreasonably strict of me?!

It's not unreasonable to have a rule against it, but it can be hard to prevent. A 2.5 year old is basically a force of nature with a sofa obsession.

Constant repetition and threats of toy removal are required. Sometimes I just stand up to avoid being climbed on because it's less hassle.

Sounds like the mum isn't really trying though?
