crossing "Lines" in the weight chart

my ds was on the 91st line at birth. he quickly droped to the 75%tile. by 14 weeks he was under the 50% line and now at 31 weeks he is on the 25%tile line.
I think he is feeding fine. has 5 bottles a day.(about 34 oz formula a day..i stopped bfeeding at 4 months) and having 3 "meals"
half a weetabox for breakfast, veg puree for lunch today and will have a fish, veg and cheese concoction for tea. maybe some fromage frais if he looks for more after main course!
the HV always points out he dropping off the lines and said we will check his weight again at 8 month check (hes currently 7 months). should i be worried?

DS was very small for his first 7 months - we fell totally off the chart and it was very distressing and worrying, but with the benefit of hindsight, I was less worried.

I would consider giving your DS a bit more fattening food though, to beef him up. Perhaps instead of veg puree at lunch, some cereal, meat or cheese based thing instead. Always offer the yoghurty things afterwards. It'll shake out probably

hm, did you have gestational diabetis when your were pg wiht your ds? Because that can "make" Baby's bigger then they would naturally be, and that means that they may well possibly drop down in percentiles.
Another possibility is, that your ds maybe is taking to much in solids causing him to take less Formula than he natuirally would. Milkfeeds have a higher calorific density the solids.
It is also worth considering your ds's general health. Is he contented and active? Might also be worth asking your HV which specific worries she has?

hes still drinking a lot of milk. i offer him 8 oz 5 times a day. he doesnt always drink it all but he does have at least 34 oz a day.
i didnt have gestational diabetis or anything like that. just high blood pressure in the last week or pregnancy. however baby was 2 weeks late if that makes a difference?

My DS (now 14!) dropped way down the charts - can't remember the details now, but he was also 2 weeks late. I always worked on the basis that he'd been putting on the weight over the last 2 weeks and had arrived heavier than he would otherwise have been. I also had the memory (and photos) of my dad and brother in their teens where you could count the ribs, and knew he'd likely grow into a very slim child. If your or DPs family tend to be like this, that could explain it.

If he's eating well, and seems healthy and active in general, then it's probably nothing to worry about

Same with my DS - 98th centile at birth, but he was 18 (!) days late. Now much lower at 17 weeks, but I haven't had him weighed for a while other than on our own scales, because he's happy and alert and I'm not too worried.

My ds was born on the 80th percentile AND OVER 2 YEARS HAS SLID (oops) down to the 9th. As this decrease has been gradual and he is otherwise healthy and very active we have been told not to worry about it. This has been easier said then done at times but I am now fairly relaxed about the fact he is a shrimp.

All 3 of my children started off near the top of the charts (can't remember exactly where), and by about 12mths 2 were completely below it and one was around the 3rd centile. Various tests found nothing wrong and now at the ages of 19,15 & 12 they are all perfectly healthy,so I wouldn't worry too much if he is otherwise healthy.

its made me a bit hung up on him eating today and i reckon he could sense that coz he just didnt really want to eat much.
