2 year old autistic son won’t leave my side

Hi I’m looking for some advice from anyone who’s experienced similar or has a toddler with autism.

my 2 year old is so loving makes great eye contact gives hugs ecg but this is all only with me. Not even DH gets a look in.

the problem is he will not leave me alone ( don’t know how best to word it.) if I sit on sofa he’s climbing on my knee face in mine. If I get up to move he follows dragging my leg ect.

I love the fact he’s so loving as I know I’m lucky due to his diagnosis. But I can’t have a coffee without it been knocked out my hand. Im on my 3rd mobile as he has grabbed and threw them to get as close to me as he can. It’s constant all day everyday.

brought this up to his sen worker she said I’m lucky he’s so loving which really doesn’t help as it’s stopping me been able to do simple daily tasks

I’m currently writing this with him poking my face climbing one me and crying when I move him

DS was like this as a toddler and it was exhausting. He wouldn't leave my side and got incredibly upset if I left, moved him etc. He's still a space invader as he doesn't really understand social boundaries but we aren't joined at the hip anymore. Out of interest how is your little ones communication? Are you the person he spends most of his time with, do you do most things for him? My son is 12 now and i have gotten used to sen workers saying some of the most insensitive and ridiculous things humanely possible to the extent I could probably write a book on the subject!
