11 months is pointing with whole hand...

is it normal ?my 11.5 mo boy started pointing at around 11 months but he points with whole hand. he waves ,claps and mimic me ... he babble but not much . m so worried for my son after know neibours autistic baby used to point with whole hand.
is finger pointing is most important in this age? anyone can help by giving any experience?

My DS started pointing with one finger at 15mo. Think the average is 12-14mo, some are earlier some are later. Was worried just like you so read that an open hand point at 11mo is a good sign, as long as it develops to a finger point by 18mo. Mine is 17mo now and points at everything! Pointing is related to communication, my DS seems to always be slower than average with communication but gets there eventually, he’s ahead of average with motor skills though. Babies are all different but too early to worry at 11mo.
