Pre schooler and swearing

Hi, having a serious problem with my 4 year old.
He started swearing in Feb, slowly it has become worse and more frequent.
More swear words are being used.
I've tried to ignore him but it makes no difference.
Its so embarrassing when out in public as he sometimes swears at strangers.
Has anyone else experienced this?
Does anyone have any advice or strategies please?

Stop people swearing in front of, and stop spending time with people who swear in front of, your preschooler.

tell preschooler that ‘that isn’t a nice word, don’t say it again’ and teach alternative funny words that will make them laugh and they be more likely to use.

Agree with Pp, find the source of where it's coming from and put a stop to that. Once there's nothing to copy you can deal with the words themselves.
